Feyenoord begin talks with Newcastle United over signing star winger Yankuba Minteh on loan for another season

According to Voetbal International, Feyenoord are in talks with Newcastle United over bringing Yankuba Minteh back to De Kuip for another season. The 19-year-old winger has experienced a sensational campaign in the Netherlands, having joined last seasons Eredivisie champions on a season-long loan from Newcastle last summer. The Rotterdam club will do ‘everything’ possible to re-sign the Gambian.


As things stand, Yankuba Minteh will report to Newcastle’s summer training camp in Asia. The Premier League outfit reportedly want to see the right-winger in action and believe he could be a useful asset next season. Feyenoord want him to remain at De Kuip for another title challenge in the Eredivisie and Champions League campaign.


Minteh has featured 34 times across all competitions for Feyenoord, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists. His sensational speed and quality dribbling has made him a handful for opposition defenders this season. Newcastle spent €8m on Minteh last summer, signing the youngster from Danish side Odense BK. That could turn out to a be brilliant bit of business from the Magpies as he’s clearly got so much potential.
