Former Real Madrid attacker Eden Hazard is attracting interest from Major League Soccer side Inter Miami, according to Relevo.
Los Blancos released the 32-year-old this summer after an abysmal four-year spell at the club, and he can join any side on a free transfer.
Hazard is still on vacation with his family and is yet to decide on the next step for his career.
There were rumours that he was considering retirement from football altogether, but he is not rushing to any conclusion. He will take his time to decide.
Inter Miami are trying to convince him to join their project. They have already secured the signings of Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets.
They snapped Messi ahead of the Saudi League after Barcelona failed to propose a reasonable offer to him. He wanted to return to the Catalans, but the club’s financial problems did not allow it.
Also, Inter Miami signed Busquets, who left Barcelona after over 700 appearances. He had an offer from Saudi Arabia but decided to join his friend in America.
Furthermore, the MLS side is trying to sign two other Barcelona legends, Jordi Alba and Andres Iniesta. Those deals are still in the works, but they have another target in sight.
Interestingly, RWD Molenbeek have put an offer forward for Hazard. They recently climbed into the Belgian top flight with his younger brother Kylian Hazard.
They want the brothers in the Belgian Pro League ahead of next season.
However, Inter Miami are making advances towards the former Chelsea forward and want to make him another ‘designated player’ in the squad, like Messi.
The designated player rule allows MLS teams to sign up to three players outside their salary cap ($5.2 million).
They implemented this regulation before the 2007 season. It means MLS sides cannot sign many star players in the international market.
